Why should I do Speaking Practice?

If you’re like most French learners, after a time you become relatively comfortable with reading and writing French, no matter your level. However, when the time comes to just ‘get the words out’ you find you’re blocked and everything you thought you knew just flies out of your head. Or worse, you actually do remember but it takes you so long to formulate the perfect sentence that the moment has passed and you’ve missed your opportunity. This is a very common experience.

How does it work?

Speaking Practice follows on from Key Courses (which are where you’ll learn the fundamentals of French), and gives you the opportunity to practise orally what you have just learned. We put the workbooks away, and replace them with activities using blocks, flashcards, games and even occasionally racing cars, to take your mind off the fact you’re speaking French. The course is fun, interactive and, most importantly, effective.

Must I have done a Key Course first?

No! So long as you are not an absolute beginner, we’ll find the right level for you and let you know what will be covered so you can do a brief brush-up. Better still, you can buy the Key Course workbook from us* ($30 includes workbook and homework booklet, both with answers) and use that to get up to speed.
